Fax machine and Windows Excel?

Featured Replies

I need to use excel to fax something... a credit card dispute. Where can I do this in Chiang Mai?

It might make more sense to print it out and then take it to a fax/copy center.

Or you can copy the file to a USB drive and any copy/fax center will be able to print it for you.

I am in BKK but I am sure the same applies in CM

Maybe ask around your friends and you will find someone who has a multi-purpose scanner/printer/fax machine that will fax it for you. They are very common these days.

efax..

Print from excel to PDF digital format (I am assuming excel does that I use open office or google docs) and upload the PDF to efax output..

Lesson learned, any credit company that still insists on faxes surely will never get my business

If in the day and age if they can't read an email attachment, then who needs them

I have to agree.

Who on earth uses a Fax Machine these days?

Banks used to take the view that receiving documents by fax had some level of security as to where the message was coming from, whereas it seems anybody can easily falsify the senders info when sending by e-mail.

Maybe they still take this attitude.

I still deal with many banks who wont deal otherwise..

Amazing really but somehow they feel a fax is more 'proof' than an attachment.

It is not just a feeling, the privacy and security of fax is higher than email.

Absolute nonsense.

Anyone with the most basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Adobe and countless other programs can mock up or alter any document, print it out as "hard copy" then go to any hole in the corner shop and Fax it to anyone.

Totally trackless and anonymous, as when when the OP Faxes his document from an unknown, totally traceless shop in Chiang Mai or wherever.

Send it via Email and there is a much better chance or a trace to follow if there is a later problem.

Its not just those open email security issues.. My bank has an online system for comms, all within the net banking.. You can upload files to it etc.. But they still demand a fax for some things.
