Non O - 1 year based on marriage or dependent child

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get a 1 year Non O multiple entry visa based on marriage or dependent child (that I have court order saying I control education) anywhere in South East Asia or do I have to go back to my home country again?

If can, where would be the best place to get the visa, how much, how long will it take to process and what documents will I need to take?

Any help on this is appreciated as going back to my home country is getting very expensive.

Yes, If married to a Thai and have original Marriage Certificate you can go to Savannakhet Laos.

No Financial requirements and visa costs 5000 THB, but you have to stay one night in Laos

You can get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai at the consulate in Savannakhet Laos.with no financial proof. Or in Penang Malaysia with 100k baht in the bank or proof of income.

A Non O multiple entry visa based on marriage is easily obtained from the Thai consulate in Laos.

You will need

  • Completed application form
  • Copies of your passport data page and Laos visa.
  • Original marriage certificate + a copy
  • Signed copies of your wife's ID card and housebook
  • 5000 Bht fee for the visa.

The house book is the blue book correct?

Does it matter that my wife is registered in Khon Kane, but lives in Bangkok?

Thanks for the advice.

My visa now says I have to enter before March 2 2016. If I leave Thailand on Feb 27 and do a border run, then I get another 90 days and would not need to get the new Non O until those 90 days are up correct?

Thanks again for the help.

As long do an entry on or before the enter before date on your visa you can get another 90 day entry.

You could then get a 60 day extension to visit your wife stretching your visa out to almost 17 months before you need to get a new one.

You wife will need to sign the copies of her ID card and house book registry.

Thanks Joe,

Have been looking at the Consulate web site, but can't see if they are open on the Monday after Song Kran. (April 18) Do you no anything or have a better link?

Can you recommend a hotel in Savannakhet. And one on the Thai side for the night before.

Thanks again.

They will be closed on Monday the 18th. I use Vientiane's holiday calendar since Savannakhet"s is not updated. http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/embassy/calendar.php
