Tourist Visa question

Featured Replies

I plan to be in Thailand on a METV. What are the rules for attending school? I wanted to take a Thai language course. I know in most countries (that I am familiar with) you can't attend a school on a tourist visa, how does Thailand treat this issue?

You can take a course no problem

You can attend school with a tourist visa. There is no requirement for you to have a non-ed visa to do it.

whistling.gif What is your nationality and where do you plan to get the METV?

As far as I now you will need to ne a national of the country where you get the METV

You will not be able to get that METV in Thailand or in any of the neighboring countries in SEA unless the rules change.

The METV is new and the rules are not yet totally clear......but right now it is VERY difficult to get except in your home country.

Be sure before you decide to go for the new METV to read the requirements where you plan to apply for it very carefully.

As I said, the rules to apply right now are very strict and difficult.

You could take a course on a Single Entry Tourist Visa which would be much easier to get.
