Traveling through Thailand, no airplane ticket to show

Featured Replies

I am going on a trip through Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I will only stay in Thailand for 9 days whereafter I will cross the border by train to Cambodia. so i wont have a plane ticket to show. Anyone know how to handle this situation?

Thanks,

Mees Deknatel

If you will only be entering Thailand overland you will not need an airline ticket.

If flyng in you would need a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival to board your flight.

How will you be entering Thailand?

If via a land crossing you should have no problem unless you already have a history of Thai visa-exemptions.

If by air your difficulty will be getting on the plane without an onward ticket. Maybe plan on flying to your next destination.

Either way have 10-20,000 Baht in cash to show at the border / airport immigration, lack of funds is the No1 excuse for denying entry.

I will be flying from Yangon to Bangkok, but leaving by train.

You may be asked to show a ticket out of the country to board your flight. Perhaps check for a one way flight to Phnom Penh on a low cost carrier such as Air Asia.

There is no train from Thailand to Cambodia.

The train from Bangkok does come close, tho, only about 6 km from Aranyaprathet to the border point, and tuk tuks available for that section.
