Panompenh Tough On Non B

Featured Replies

A friend just back from PanomPenh after getting his non b, he had a wp3 and all documents with him prepared well, got there 9am and was was told come back at 11am to see the big boss.

11am meeting with big boss, "why you come here for visa? just because you can get cheap flights from airasia? you should go Singapore" after 20 minute interview about why so many VOA's in passport, told "I give you this time but dont EVER come back here again and I wont extend it here" Passport will be stamped to say that as well.

Useful, current report but for what it's worth, nothing new in this story. The Thai embassy in Phnom Penh has never been known to be a good location for visa seekers, even those with all the proper paperwork.

Yes unfortunately they are the worst I have ever dealt with. They will not even lend you a pen, nor help the Kmer people with their applications. When I went there about 6 years ago, I had 5 - 1 year non B's in my passport and they still gave me 3 months... :D

In a funny way the actual Thai consulate is affecting toursim of sorts as most people will never go back into the country to apply for a visa.

Maybe write to the tourism minister if there is a current one. :o
