Transfer Thai name to farang in blue book

Featured Replies

Hi All, this will be an easy one for you guys I have just sold our pick up and it's in my Thai wife's name. We have sold it to a farang and was just wanting to find out what the process is and what documents both parties need for a smooth transfer. Car is registered in Pattaya and will stay here and we will be going to the land transport office just off the 36. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers and have a great new year.

No sweat about it. Just bring certificate of residence if farang doesn't have WP + passport

copy id for thai seller and residence certificate, passport copies for farang buyer

Cheers Thanks for the help guys . I'll take her house book also just in case.

Same here, cost me 8000 baht. Not sure I was taken to the cleaners. Little I could do about it.

8000bht !!!! I changed blue book last week, usual copy of passport, residence certificate ( this was specifically stamped for vehicle purchase) and cost 500 BBT !!!

Will wife be present? Wife is registered possessor/owner of the vehicle.

Yes wife will be present , we will just take her ID, house book , passport and signed copies of all. Not sure of cost involved but I assume that is the buyers expense . Cheers

And yes my wife is the owner of the vehicle . Blue book is in her name

80000bht for what the only thing I can think of there is back tax previous owners or car dealer didn't tax it yearly.

We sold one recently same circumstances as op wife was there otherwise she would need to sign to give power of attorney to husband or new buyer. Buyer need passport and all the usual copies and certificate of residence. (He had yellow book so no problem having to wait for certificate.

350bht all done in Khon Kaen
