CTH - Premier League English Expert Analysis

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have CTH and use it only for watching the EPL. This weekend I have noticed that the English expert analysis (as a way to describe it) has disappeared from stadium 5? Before it had Andy Townsend along with others giving views and opinions pre match, half time and post match. Now it only has the Thai version of this? Does anyone know why this has happened and if I can expect this channel to re-appear?

Yes, I tried all the other channels. All Thai analysis. Im thinking of canceling it now instead of waiting until the end of the season.

Not a bad idea,I've done away with it.

I use I Likehd via Internet which for 500 baht a month carries all the CTH channels as well as all the UK sky sports and BT sports channels as well as sky sports news.

Obviously to watch a game at 3pm UK time or 10pm here you need to use the local channels but the rest of the time for example yesterday's early game and both games today I watch them on the UK channels due to the better pre and post match build up interviews etc.

CTH Stadium 6 transmits the pundits.

Channel 106.

The reception strength for106 seems to be not as strong as the other stadium channels.

Try doing an automatic search and stadium 6 should reappear.

CTH for me is OK.

I also use an Android TV box with an IPTV service.

The time difference for matches is something I can get used to.

Confirming Fergustons post, Channel 6 is the home of the UK English language pre and post match analyses and the daily news, reviews and fan zone programs. Last Saturday was no different.

my cth box was updated on sat and 106 has gone, I now have programs numbered 8001 I think without looking again to 80013,

but 8001 is stadium 6 , and is still the same content as before.

Silly question did you try the other channels.

Not much longer and CTH will be a thing of the past for watching the prem league.

We hope and pray so.

As long as it does not move to the overpriced True Visions platform.

It was bad enough when they had it before.

My understanding is that unfortunately that is likely to be the case,as far as I am aware BeIN have won the rights and True is the only platform carrying their channel/s.

A link from a previous thread discussing the recent acquisition of the EPL rights by BeIN sport.

Thanks for the link s-boy. I didn't realise beIN had won the rights already.

So there's just one beIN channel on True at the moment - 676 - and I hope True will just add more in a deal with beIN.

Regarding the price, or "overprice" as Eclipse put it, I've always paid 2155 per month for True - it hasn't gone up in over 10 years IIRC. I didn't have it for about 5 years after I moved house but have it again at 2155. Actually, I pay an extra 159/mo for a second set top box.

I do like the True cable set top box - so much better than the CTH satellite set top box, which looks and feels like a small, cheap copy. And the software is pathetic too.

That is because you have little choice and I understand that.

Moving back to Truse Visions will be a backward step for most of us.

Rather a truce than truse.

Nope.

I wont be paying TrueVision but will still be watching BPL live.

I remember the last time they had it. Dreadful.

Unless you were one of the so called "top four" on the 2 HD channels

you had to watch your team through a blur.

Youve all got short memories. there was absolutely nothing wrong with Truevisions previous coverage of the Premier League except that at that time, three years ago, they hadnt introduced the HD channels they have now. All these others, CTH, Wetv etc etc all turn out to be crap after a while....I m no apologist for True, far from it, I hardly watch at all apart from the major sporting events like Rugby, Olympics, Open Golf, Wimbledon etc, but if you want to see all those in good quality, True is your only option. Anyone who says streaming is as good is living in a fools paradise. I pay 2000 a month for True and hopefully they will get EPL back with the demise of all these crappy competitors who always turn out to be a five minute wonder!

By the way if you think True is expensive at £40 UK a month, take a look at what Sky charge in the UK, almost double that if you buy the sports channels !!

This is Thailand not the UK

So what? If you think everything in Thailand should be half the cost of everything in the UK then you prove my point precisely. You really are away with the fairies in cloud cuckoo land !!

True is OK until the wet season when you end up with rain fade and in the hot season sun outages.

The bottom line is that pay per view TV here is hit and miss with all of the providers.

I've never had signal issues in the UK with sky tv in torrential rain or heavy snowfall.

Here's a picture of my True box switched off.

And a picture of my tv post-118612-1452244672841_thumb.jpgstreaming True content through ilikehd the quality is identical but the price is not.

To each his own.

Maybe, but cloud cuckoo land also has Test Match Cricket. Big Bash from Australia and a stack of other stuff that True does not provide for over inflated fees. IlikeHD has it all at a good price.

CTH, GMMZ, PSI have double the content at half the price of Turd Visions.

For the ilikehd what is the streaming quality like if the internet connection is slow?

Generally ok because it is Thailand based, you can buy access to all channels for two hours for a minimal fee, this will give you a good idea if it's going to work with your internet connection.

On the ilikehd website there are a few different android boxes to choose from. Am i best buying from there or going to tucom or somewhere similar. Also does it matter which box i get?

It doesn't have to run through a box,I run it on my laptop and IPad as well as my android box.

I just got my second statement: the extra box is 459 baht/mo with a discount of 300. Don't know why or for how long.

My first box is 2,000 with a discount of 600. Don't know why or for how long.

So my monthly bill is 1,714 (includes 155 "decoder service fee" (?) ).
