Can someone answer this question please: when I go to Udon Thani Immigration for the first one year extension of my non-immigrant visa based on retirement, will I be required to produce a medical certificate/doctor's letter?

Thanks for that Eclipse. I thought it was a bit of a strange requirement.

I've also been told of others that I find hard to believe, like a map from Immigration to where I live which has to be drawn by hand; Google maps won't do and then there's a translation of my birth certificate. Are these old wives tales as well?

There are a few offices that want a map to your house. It just has to be from the nearest main road or street. A birth certificate is never required.

Thanks Ubonjoe. Would you advise me to use my non-existent map drawing skills or can I cheat and use Google Maps?

whistling.gif When I did my first retirement extension here in Bangkok I had a hand drawn map as well as a photocopy map from Google map off the internet.

Didn't matter, no one ever showed up anyhow..

But different immigration offices, different procedures.
