PATTAYA; -- The Pattaya Police Chief announced on Monday the results of the “7 deadly days” over the New Year period, where Thailand records the number of road incidents dealt with over the New Year period and compares it with the year before.

It is important to stress the figures have not been independently verified and the method they use to collate the figures is not known.

Police Colonel Sukthat announced that over the 7-day period, which started on 29th December, a total of 4,622 arrests for traffic violations were made. 1,064 people were fined for not wearing motorbike safety helmets and 1,127 were fined for not possessing a valid driving license.
