No More Than Two Tourists Visas From The Same Consulate

Featured Replies

There have been suggestions, yet unconfirmed, that it is not possible to receive more than two tourist visas from the same consulate in a year. I have received two mutiple-entry tourist visas from the Thai consulate in Penang in the last couple years, and plan to apply for a single-entry one there tomorrow. Do I stand a chance of being denied this visa? Would it be wiser for me to apply in KL or even Singapore? Any firsthand experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think anybody has a solid answer for you. Question: have you received two tourist visas from Penang either in 2006 or since October 2005?

My first triple-entry tourist visa was issued in Aug 2005, the second and current was issued in Feb 2006. Both of these are from Penang.

Were you planning to use an agent in Penang? He would probably be in the best position to answer what's most current.

As of last week, KL was issuing double and triple entry tourist visas. No idea whether this is still the case since things seem to be changing daily but that might be worth considering.

Try sending an e-mail to NJ Books Centre in Penang - an Agent that many TV members use. He'll advise you of the current situation

Thanks for that email address.

I've sent off a few questions and will contact my agent as well to see if I can get some definitive answers from someone in Penang.

If it is unclear than they will tell you: No problem.

Why do people want advise from somebody who is going to loose money on a honest answer ?

Another rule is that any of these Embassies/Consulates should not grant more than two Visa per calendar year to a specific person means that you have to change the Destination at least once a year.

As far as I know this is ONE rule. , but will they enforce or how they count I can not cfm.

These people can end up losing more by being dishonest. They know news travels fast. Give them credit for some intelligence.
