I see many topics by 'news team' that are locked. Why? What's the point in posting if the topics are to be locked?

Does ThaiVisa have communications issues with it's 'staff'?

To disable the possibility of replies.

What's the point in posting if the topics are to be locked?

To give readers the opportunity to read a news article, albeit without allowing members to post replies.

Not as far as I know. This has always been standard practice for certain types of topics.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Whizbang, there are many topics right now that are very sensitive to discuss and some that can't be discussed in the current environment. The news team can decide what to post and how to word it to let us know, and then lock from discussion so it doesn't go over the top.

I appreciate the information anyway.

Also in the daily post of "all the news in one place" I don't recall ever having a place for discussion there. It's just a quick way to compile a lot of news items to read. It's also very handy.

Cheers.

I would have thought after 3246 posts you might have a bit of a clue without having to ask.
