NNT News

BANGKOK, 11 January 2016 (NNT) -- A member of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has proposed that a special committee on the promotion of peaceful society formed from the representatives of all sides with different opinions.

NLA Member Gen.Akanit Muensawat said he had asked the NLA Whip to consider setting up the special committee consisting of 24 members. 14 of them will be members of the NLA and the rest ten outside people representing the groups with opposing opinions. The special committee would work together to find the means to peace for the society, said the NLA member.

The 24 members have already been selected.

Meanwhile, the national reform steering committee on public health and environment and councils of health professionals signed a declaration to support the universal health coverage scheme. They emphasized that everyone needed to have an access to necessary health services, low-income people needed to be given free health services and those who can afford their medical bills needed to help support the universal health coverage scheme.
