Road Tax Timing?

Featured Replies

I have an old Honda wave about 10 months late in paying the tax. It expired the end of March last year.

I just got the tor ror or inspection paper today and will go to the land transport office tomorrow.

My question is can I pay the tax/insurance for the next year at the same time or do I need to go back again before the end of March to renew?

Thanks!

You will now pay tax for the whole past year plus a late fee of 1 baht per month, but insurance only for the remaining months.

Then you can pay tax and insurance for the next year, as I think you're allowed to pay 3 months in advance.

I forgot to add, you most probably will have to do a second technical inspection for the tax from next year, since the document you have now can only be used once.

They did accept the single inspection form and I payed insurance for 14.5 months and tax for two years plus a 10 baht penalty.

Thanks.
