David Bowie: Brit Awards tribute for 'visionary' musician

LONDON: -- A tribute will be paid to "visionary and ground-breaking" David Bowie at next month's Brit Awards.

Brits chairman Max Lousada said the "extraordinary life and work" of "one of our greatest icons" would be honoured at the show, at London's O2 arena, on 24 February.

A memorial concert is also planned for New York's Carnegie Hall in March.

The Music of David Bowie was billed as a tribute show featuring his songs, but has now been changed to a memorial.

Amazing isn't it, how any artist all of a sudden becomes even more interesting, iconic, charismatic, extraordinary the very instant he/she leaves this planet??? As far as I could see, most organisations, papers, news stations gave a toss about Bowie over the past few years... Well good to see he's going with a BANG, having had his latest (and rather weird) album released just shortly after passing away.
