CDC confirms no attempt to infringe people’s rights
NNT News

BANGKOK, 13 January 2015 (NNT) – The Constitution Drafting Commission has given an assurance that there are no attempts to infringepeople’s rights in the new charter.

CDC spokesman Udom Ratamarit said that the charter drafters have not done anything to infringe the people’s rights to protection, as some critics have claimed.

Mr. Udom’s comment was in response to claims that the CDC’s version of the Constitution is different from the versions adopted in 1997 and 2007 in one particular respect which affects people’s major rights, meaning their rights as humans are no longer endorsed and protected.

He stated that the clauses related to these rights have only been moved to the “General” section of the draft charter while reassuring the populace that every citizen’s rights will continue to receive complete protection.

"CDC confirms no attempt to infringe people’s rights"

You mean except for the right of the people to elect a government that is actually allowed to govern?

So what exactly do they call the current situation?

The CDC would like to apologise for errors in the new constitution which was attributed to mistakes made by the proof reader. Rather than reprint the whole production run of copies of the Constitution (approximately 47 million) the CDC have asked Thai citizens to simply replace the phrase "Peoples Rights" with "the right people" when reading it,

e.g

"CDC spokesman Udom Ratamarit said that the charter drafters have not done anything to infringe the people’s rights to protection"

becomes

"CDC spokesman Udom Ratamarit said that the charter drafters have not done anything to infringe the Right People's protection",

Thank you for your time......................

Mindless propaganda babble from people who prove time and again they can't be trusted with their disingenuous wagging tongues.

If you want the truth out of them, completely reverse what they say, straight out of the George Bush Book Of Read My Lips.

so does this mean if I click "like" I will not be executed?

Rights? What Rights? You have the right to remain silent...you have the right to an attorney...anything you say can be used against you in a court of law...

But you do not have the right to depress the "Like" key on Facebook...

Weird...really weird so called rights...

"...The Constitution Drafting Commission has given an assurance that there are no attempts to infringe people’s rights in the new charter..."

Humm, yet to be determined. Truth is like mercury with this government...always slipping away.

so does this mean if I click "like" I will not be executed?

correct, ... unless you are a reporter.

So what exactly do they call the current situation?

The way ahead?

The shape of things too come?

Ideal?

Just a start?

apparently the draft charter enshrines censorship under the guise of what the government can do in a "crisis".

It would seem that free speech is not a right to the imbeciles on the CDC...

I am glad that it is confirmed that we now can openly speak all those forbidden words and go out in the streets and protest.

Time to take out the champagne.

"clauses related to these rights have only been moved to the “General” section of the draft charter"

I didn't see any Article titled "Blah, Blah, Blah" wai2.gif

In fact both junta drafts have deleted from the 2007 Constitution, Part 13, “Right to Protect the Constitution,” Article 68:

“No person shall exercise the rights and liberties prescribed in the Constitution to overthrow the democratic regime of government with the King as Head of State under this Constitution or to acquire the power to rule the country by any means which is not in accordance with the modes provided in this Constitution. “

So much for leaving rights and liberties intact.
