Not the "self-sufficiency' gobbledygook again.

Previous posters are correct. Not a clue what this article is about.

If I remember my Eng. Lang. precis lessons accurately, this whole press release can be summarised as:-

" Meaningless rhetoric, vacuous ramblings and just plain B.S."

Sorry if I've been too brief...............

No, I think you were quite succinct and hit the nail squarely on the head.

This will be milked for publicity for all it's worth, just imagine 77 countries listening to Thailand, well at least pretending they're listening.

Standby for statements of praise issued by LoS on behalf of others.

Membership is at 134 countries now. The only thing they have in common is they are wanna-be developed countries who want handouts from developed countries without change to their own foreign policies, national pride and economic agendas. Thailand is a leader among losers.

I wondered what the "G" represented. I now know its obviously Groveling.

Self sufficient my arm.......

Reliant on exports

Reliant on foreign investment

Reliant on tourism

Even reliant on the govt to buy their products way above market value, be it Rice, Rubber or Palm Oil.

Shining light of self sufficiency, bet the the G77 can't wait. Don't even get me started a about police , judicial process, human trafficking and corruption, they should be in the docks explaining this to the UN, never mind heading up some group.

"Subsistence Farming" oops sorry I mean "Sufficiency Economy" has been refined in Thailand for many years. Thailand is well-placed to teach other emerging economies about the correct way to keep the majority of the population on a subsistence sufficiency basis in order to benefit the elite minority.

farang no understààààààànd...

Sufficiency economy means I get a Rolls, a Bentley, a mansion and millions in the bank. It means that what is sufficient for you massive un payable debt, rent you can't pay and a motorcycle you will be paying off for years. Who decides what is sufficient for you.....I do.

Enquiring minds wonder what is meant by "South-south cooperation". Can someone please enlighten us?

Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.

The sufficiency economy is really another name for integrated farming- don't rely on a mono crop as the price can vary. Sensible advice, provided the farmer has sufficient land and knowledge, unfortunately too many farmers in Issan and the North followed the advice of Thaksin and Newin and turned their whole farms into rubber plantations.

How they must rue that choice now.

The other members of the G-77 obviously can't wait to learn about the sufficiency economy from Thai bureaucrats, although they might wonder if it would make their own economies go into a tailspin like Thailand's.
