If some of you feel so disgusted why don't you start up a fund and contribute to their welfare. Otherwise- I would suggest you mind your own business. When I first visited Pattaya in the 1960s there was only one hotel and the place was pristine. It is now overbuilt and contains certain elements that I do not want my family to have to contend with. However, live and let live. Many other people like it the way it is and that's all right. For us that do not care for it- it's simple- go somewhere else. This is high season and even though some say business is off by 52% it was a mad house of motorcycles, cars, and people going every which way. I play golf and even most of the golf clubs which take you to play each day were booked up and full. We stayed for 3 days and I played enough golf to take me a week to get over my soreness. I like Pattaya and had thought about moving there a couple of years ago just for the golf but with the price of hotels it just makes sense for us to go stay for a month or two when we get the urge. I don't really drink nor look for someone to dink... But Pattaya has the best, most reasonably priced golf in the country; even during high season IMO.. Whatever makes one's boat float, no? So rather than your weak argument of two wrongs do not make one them right, Thai men abusing young girls sort of wins out by sheer numbers.... As a seedy open air brothel it's neck and neck with Angeles city for top of the dump pattaya is far more than a seedy open air brothel. it has world class botanical gardens, beautiful islands, waterparks, pattaya park tower and other nice viewpoints, dozens of golf courses, fitness studios, shoppingmalls, cinemas, all kinds of sports (bowling, shooting, gocart, kite-surfing, horseriding, everything), thousands of good restaurants, many 5 star hotels. tenthousands of thais working in bangkok have a second home here in pattaya. it is the holiday destination nr 1 for most thais. angeles city is absolute no comparison, except beeing also a partytown for tourists. True....if you are not interested in sex and debauchery then there are plenty of other things to do. And it's certainly a good place to retire. ....if you don't mind having men dressed as women walking up and grabbing your crotch as you stroll down the sidewalk. Or if you don't mind a farang man's body falling down from a condo balcony once in awhile. Caution: look up for safety when walking near a condo.
