Home owner reporting process

Featured Replies

It was time for my 90 day report. I went yesterday by myself to the local Korat immigration office, and was told to come back with the owner of the home where we stay, her Thai ID card and the book showing the pertinent home info so she could verify my residence.

Today I took my sister-in-law along since she fills all the requirements. The guy who does the 90 day reports told us to go next door to handle the reporting issues, which we did. We then returned to him.

He proceeded to tell us that anytime I left and returned to/from Thailand, we could report my leaving the country very easily on line, and all we needed to do was go back to the lady next door and she would handle everything.

So we happily went next door again. The lady explained that she was way too busy to be checking emails of foreigners leaving and returning from and to Thailand, and it was much easier for my sister-in-law to just come back to the local immigration office within 24 hours of my trips.

Oy.

Same here wife & i had to go next door & report whilst doing re entry visa

She said it was easy as all in english ( tried finding to no avail), Heard from other person only works with Explorer (still no hope)

Next time went back for another Re entry & this time the women gave us a password (for what i dont know)

Others here have mentioned the need to get program of women to put on a disk (Not even a mention of that by her)

There is no re-entry visa, It is a re-entry permit that keeps your visa-extension of stay valid if you leave the country and return.

When you return to Thailand the 90 days starts counting again, anew, for your 90 day reporting.

There is a re-entry visa, but it is for permanent residents, ie probably not applicable to the OP.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Not sure what a "program of women" is but my stepson was told he could do the home owner reporting online, using the same system that hotels use to report foreign guests who check in each day. As I understood it he would have to register as a user of the system and get a password to use it. He decided it was easier just to use the "manual" process so he just filled out the form instead.

Perhaps that's the online reporting referred to in the SpokaneAl's post, rather than sending emails.

I sometimes travel up to twice a week, this really means that every time I come back from a trip my wife has to report me being in our (her) home?

Does it matter if she doesn't open email. When you do your 90 day, bring copy of you sending email.

I think Korat immigration is referring to trips out of the country not within the country.

What is needed depends upon the immigration office you have to use. Some offices like Korat are misinterpreting the immigration act while others say you only need to do a TM30 report if you change addresses.

I mean out of the country trips too.

I'm under Mab Ta Phut, Rayong immigration and we only once, almost 2 years ago were asked, when my wife was with me for visa extension that she reported me a living in her house.

We and I have been there many times since and they have not asked for it again.

I've been on 1 year extensions for 12 years, but since October I have a new job involving a lot of traveling and I do see them taking increasingly more time at the airport to study my passport as it's filling up with stamps and visa's.

I have seen no reports of Rayong wanting the report. It seems they may only want a report if you move.

Thanks, no problem on the short term than, but if gives this slight uncomfortable feeling of many of the vague and variable interpreted rules here where they can always have something on you when they want.
