Democrats end its tie with Bangkok governor

BANGKOK: -- The Democrat Party announced today to end all its tie with Bangkok governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra after its almost three months failed effort to contact him for explanation of sensitive issues

In a press conference held by the party’s spokesman and executives Juti Krairiksh and Ongart Klamphaibul before noon, the party will now consider his management of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration his own affairs and his sole and independent responsibility with nothing to do with the party.

The party now considered him an individual and his administration of Bangkok will not have any connection with the party, they said.

The party also apologised Bangkok people for the votes they gave to the party but its decision to end tie with their governor was necessary.

MR Sukhumbhan is also deputy leader of the Democrat party.

Wow..big news.

someones been a bad boy.

Meanwhile, M.R. Sukhumbhand remains Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party. Once party meetings are allowed, I foresee some interesting fallout.

He can join Suthep. Lol

And Mr. Sukhumband could not be reached for comments......

what dem party?

what dem party?

Exactly. So the party that does not currently exist because no party's are allowed, has a meeting which is also not allowed, to discuss removal of a person who cannot be contacted from a party that does not exist.

I doubt Sukhumbhand is very upset with this announcement.

Abhisit is outside politics looking in while Sukhumbhand is inside looking out. This contest with Abhisit isn't over.

I applaud Sukhumbhand for trying to be independent of political parties - he's here to serve all Bangkok residents.

Sukhumbhand can tell the Democrats and Phua Thai to shove it.

Sukhumbhand, whether he's a bad or good governor, is apparently not complying with whatever directions, good or bad, the Democrat Party is trying to give him. He's apparently his own man...not a Democrat Party puppet.

What seems to have started this is a investigation into graft in several BMA projects. The governor is refusing to meet or talk with the democrat party to discuss this.

Doesn't look like he's a political puppet, just a poor governor. And the democrat party is still in tact. Just can't have public meetings.

So much for helping all residents:

You are very naive :)

(Or maybe you were just joking)

If the Democrats had continued supporting him even if it looked like he wasn't performing well they would have been criticised as well. They can't win.
