Entering Thailand to Bangkok from Battambang

Featured Replies

I understand I must pass by Poipet.

How much time will I require and is bus or train quicker ?

If I wish to take a break on the Thailand side for a few hours or a night, which town will you recommend ? With typical Thai scene of street food, nice cafes and night market.

Thank you.

1.google for site like movetocambodia-it has blogs with all the info-even for the TV-users who cannot set 1 step without guiding

2.train -only Thai side, 2/day , of course heavily promoted by the railfans here, but except that its cheap, its slow and only 3d class.

3.did it myself in dec-took the 7.45 Capitol bus from BTB-change halfway, border only around 11.30-short Q (this is no garantee whatsoever for you) and direct van (not speedy, careful driver) in 4 hrs to Vict.Monmt. US$4,50 to border and 250 bt for BKK.

The towns-all are the tipical 13 in the dozen Thai-in between are of course border Aran, Prachin, maybe Chachoengsao-but then its only 60 kms to BKk anyway. For that however you need to use much slower local big buses and change more often-thus extending travel time a lot.

From Battambang you can also head to Palin crossing ( 90 minutes by shared Taxi)
than 4 hour bus via chantaburi to Bangkok

Thank you.

I heard about a busy market with 3000 stalls and all kinds of products.

Do you know where is it ?

When you have finished with Thai entry at Aran cross the road and walk about 100 yards. The market is in front of you. There is a bus stop there going to Bangkok.
