German police bring in British 'super-recogniser' cops to identify New Year sex attackers in Cologne
By Melanie Hall, Berlin

Scotland Yard experts who can remember 95 per cent of faces they have seen to help pick out suspects

BERLIN: -- German police have enlisted the help of specialist British police officers dubbed ‘super-recognisers’ because of their extraordinary ability to remember faces to identify the culprits behind the New Year’s Eve attacks on women in Cologne.

Two ‘super-recognisers’ from the Metropolitan Police, who can remember the faces of almost everyone they have ever seen, have been helping German investigators analyse video footage from the night which saw hundreds of women sexually assaulted and robbed by groups of men mostly of north African origin.

The two British specialists, whose ability to pick out faces in a crowd is considered to be better than facial recognition software, have been working with police from Cologne to look through CCTV and mobile phone footage from where the attacks took place at Cologne’s main train station.

Tests have found that 'super-recognisers' can recall up to 95 per cent of the faces seen compared to the average person, who remembers only 20 per cent.

Let us see how many convictions there are.

These stories may be true but the authorities like to put them out to kid the public that investigations are moving forward. It's a form of spin to placate the very rightly enraged public. This behaviour was that of pigs. These people are pigs.

That's all very interesting but what do they intend to do even if they catch one or two that way?

Put up a trial in some 6 month from now, waste thousands of Euro on a trial in juvenile court including a public defender?

Do you actually think there will be jail time for that in Germany? Deport them? Haha!

Lost their papers, are all poor Syrians, and even if you can prove their are Algerians their home country is not going to

take them back on this or that pretense or pure spite.

When are they going to realize you can't just let anybody come into your country, and inf necessary will have to use force to

keep them from coming. Preferably a long way before the reach Germany.

If they aren't genuine asylum seekers then it may well be possible to deport them. It may require a trial although if they aren't granted asylum it probably isn't needed. Even if they can't be deported if they've committed an offence then they need to face justice the same as anyone else would.

There are a lot of genuine asylum seekers who need help and people like this and the economic migrants are doing them no good at all and if they can't be deported they should be looked up.

Or then again the liberal PC brigade will issue more "advice" to German women to be more careful how they dress, how they behave, where they go with whom and most importantly not to offend the religious believes of these migrants who the German leader generously invited into the country.

If the Germans learn and respect Sharia, are careful to do nothing to offend these people or their religion, and provide everything requested, quickly and courteously, then there won't be any problems.

The rest of Europe should take note and follow its leaders, the Germans.

Next time you pass through a British Airport look out for them big mirrors, which are actually one way mirrors...

These guy's are super efficient at their job, as for face recognition software it has it's strengths and weaknesses, probably only as good as the data it is feed, where as these guys will be looking at more then the features of a face.

Baerboxer ... your post No. 13 ..

I do sincerely hope that you are being sarcastic ... if you are not and this is intended to be taken seriously then I fear for the western lifestyle as we know it.

The people who did this molesting are animals and should be treated as such.

And exactly what time were you born yesterday?

Only a tiny number of them are asylum seekers in the strict sense of the word, i.e. fleeing political, religious, or ethnic persecution as per German Basic Law Art. 16a. Maybe about half of them will be war refugees under UN charter from 1951. Not really any longer by the time they reach Germany, because there's obviously a couple of countries between where ever they come from.

About half of them are given "subsidiary protection" in Germany, because their home-country is too dangerous or they are being discriminated against. And a whole lot of others are being "tolerated" as they cannot be physically deported anywhere. Or are ill. Or whatever. It's come to that some towns won't do deportations because it's become too costly and too difficult, legally and practically.

Got it? They just need to make it physically to the European country of their choice and there is nothing you can do about them. Nothing. Anything practicable you might think of would be so 1940-ish.

They don't have any papers, they can't cross the border into their home country. And that country will not issue them new papers, there are 29 problematic states that just won't take their criminals back, from Morocco and Algiers over Lebanon to Pakistan. Guinea and Iran won't even take back their own guys if they have the papers but are forcibly deported. And you have to find out which country would be responsible, guy isn't telling or lying to you. So you go through about a dozen Arab nations, 90% of which themselves are not co-operating. Takes years to do. And we are not talking one person, bout thousands, now ten-thousands.

There are a couple of dozens of (supposedly) stateless Arab Kurds in Germany whose extended families can number into the thousands, and they got criminal records the size of a phone-book each. And Germany has been trying to deport them for 20 years, and there is nowhere to deport them to. Came during the Lebanese civil war, but Lebanon just isn't stupid enough to take them back.

Withdrawing asylum is only possible, as the law stands now, if he's been convicted to more than 2 y on one count or more than 3y altogether. Hard to get in Germany, it's all very lenient and geared towards people who have something to lose and re-socialization. With a view to those parasites there is nothing to re-socialize.

We just don't want them. And prison still costs 1800 Euro a month on average.

Excellent post by Saradoc detailing the practicalities on the ground of dealing with migrants. They cannot be removed once in. Once in, the host country has to pay for everything whether they are in the community, in migrant hostels or even in custody, for ever.

It is already a game of "race to the bottom" between the European countries in terms of who can get away with providing the least in benefits and thus prove less attractive to migrants. Germany and Sweden were very slow off the mark and are paying a heavy price. (Another murder in Sweden today)

But the smartest countries (Slovakia, Poland) know that not allowing them in is the best policy.

Article from today (in German) in the Spiegel titled "A lot of effort, very little hope".

Tells how every tenth police officer in Cologne is now occupied with trying to identify the culprits from NYE at the cost of not going after other crimes, and how they are becoming frustrated and disgruntled about that and think it useless, how they feel they are being abused as pawns of politics.

Practical difficulties include victims not being able to identify attackers because they acted out of a crowd. The victims are apparently not super-recognizers, pity. One officer complained it was all for nothing anyway as it would end in suspended sentences at best.

Merkel is in the process of wrecking the European Union, firstly with trying to bully the East-Europeans into taking in Muslim immigrants when they have clearly and repeatedly stated they do not want that, secondly by that Muslim immigration as such. That has never worked, for no-one.
