I am getting my Financial affidavit from the US Embassy on February 5. I will then go to immigration and renew my retirement Visa and 90 day checking at the same time as advised by immigration last time I was there.

I am planning a tentative trip to India possibly on the 12th of February. Can I do my reentry document at immigration the same time?

Do I have to have my exact departure date, ticket already purchased?

Is it better to do the reentry permit at the airport when leaving as I've done in the past?

Thanks in advance Joe...

Yes, you can obtain a re-entry permit after you obtain the extension of your permission to stay for purposes of retirement.

No, you do not have to have an exact departure date nor do you need a ticket in hand.

Is it better to get it at the airport? Depends upon how much you like waiting around in the Immigration Offices.

You can get a re-entry permit on the same day you apply for the extension. You can put any date you want to on the TM8 form since it will not be on the re-entry permit stamp.

what is the difference between applying for extension of stay(o non immd visa) and do it at the airport? In aspect of valid period, document and charge?

Can any buddies confirm i can apply during paying 1900b (await one month immD consideration) or after approved. I want to apply during paying 1900b but the officer advise i can apply when i have the departure date.

Jomtien has been pretty efficient so far.

Most folk seem to obtain the the reentry permit at immigration same time as applying for their extension. You need to get into another queue.

Personally I'm a fan of doing it at the airport. Best to take the form with photo attached with you.

If i apply it at the airport, what is the procedure? After getting the boarding pass, and then? The office is inside the restricted area and is it 7/24? I need to prepare a form ,fee, photo and my passport only?

First of all its 24/7. My suggestion , download form. Have it all filled in WITH photo attached.

At don mueang the office is just past immigration control. At swampy it's prior to immigration check. You will already have your boarding pass. If you think you will be exiting more than few times then best to obtain a multi.

Given the convenience of getting reentry permits at both Bangkok airports, I see no reason for reentry permits in advance, unless contemplating overland travel, or leaving from regional airports.
