NRSA’s Meet-the-Press hears confirmation of 2016 as year of reform

BANGKOK, 29 January 2016 (NNT) – The National Reform Steering Assembly has confirmed with members of the press its determination to make 2016 a year of reform.

NRSA President Tinnapan Nakata along with his vice presidents, Alongkorn Ponlaboot and Walairat Sri-arun on Thursday attended a Meet The Press event which took place at the Parliament.

During the event, Mr. Tinnapan said that the NRSA has already approved four reform plans which confirms the assembly’s commitment to making this year a year of reform.

He said that, once all draft laws for these plans pass the final review by their respective committees, they will be submitted to the Cabinet for consideration.

Meanwhile, Mr. Alongkorn told members of the press that the NRSA, the National Legislative Assembly and the Cabinet have been working together closely, in a manner that includes a coordinating committee tasked with directing the national reform efforts.

Ms. Walairat later said that there remain some people who are against the NRSA because they may not have the right understanding about the role of the assembly, and that is one of the reasons that the NRSA is keen to promote public participation.
