BANGKOK: -- The draft constitution, especially the provisional chapter, was designed in such a way to prevent cheaters from gaining the power to governance and misuse their power for personal gains, said government spokesman Maj-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Sunday.

The cheaters, he said, are not confined to just politicians but also their associates and networks.

He disclosed that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha had thanked Mr Meechai Ruchupan, chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, the National Legislative Assembly and the National Reform Steering Assembly for their dedication and hardworking in making the draft charter a reality within the set timeframe despite constant criticism and increasing pressure from the politicians.

The spokesman quoted the prime minister as stressing the need for all stakeholders to demonstrate their courage for changes in a leap forward fashion instead of cautious move as was the case in the past.

He said Thailand wants a government which practices good governance which will lead the country to complete reform.

He hit back at politicians for pointing out at the negative side of the draft charter without referring to the positive aspects of the draft.

Anything about preventing the military from taking over whenever it suits them ?

It won't end corruption. Just sayin'. giggle.gif

The day that they can stop cheaters exploiting the country, any country, is the day when a massive asteroid hits the earth and wipes out all life on it.

Alas, forum rules.

They are unaware of the irony of their own statements. Seriously, this guy didn't finish the sentence and then fall out of his chair and ROTFL?

Meechai only had pressure from one source and that source just publicly thanked him... coffee1.gif

I think the new constitution will look something like this:

Article 1. No one named Shinawatra may run for parliament.

Article 2. No one names Shinawatra may be appointed to the Cabinet.

Article 3. No Montenegran citizens residing in Dubai may contact or advise the government in any way.

I wonder if the new Constitution seeks to put the Military and its spending under proper governmental oversight? (Thought not).

Article 4. It doesn't matter who the people vote for as the real power will be in the hands of the "old guard".

Who cares about the constitution? More worthless than the paper it's written on.

A minimum IQ for anyone holding a Government position would help, but it cant be so high as to disclude the entire population....

he "disclosed" lor anyway nice to see him still using his military 'title' which must be so comforting, but not in an ethical way, not that that seems to bother many in his profession here

Is there a date set for the people to vote on it ?

Usually the courts, which are above politics, add and check and balances in such instances.

It wont be the people who make the decisive choice it will be big business

The principle already works well in AA meetings where grade A alcoholics design programs to prevent others from drinking.

Do "cheaters" include those who game the immigration system instead of just following the relevant laws?

I certainly hope so......

How's that reconciliation going for ya?

Oh the irony.
