NCPO spokesman insists the junta is open to constructive comments on draft charter

BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order has never banned any individuals from making comments or criticisms against the draft constitution, NCPO spokesman Colonel Winthai Suvaree announced on Tuesday.

However, he said the comments made by some people were not constructive but provocative with the use of offensive language in a way which might incite hatred or conflict.

He said that the NCPO merely wanted the comments to be done properly and with mutual respect.

As far as the public is concerned, the colonel said the NCPO has wanted the public to understand the gist of the draft charter instead of believing in whatever said or dictated by some elements.

Some new elements in the draft charter are in conformity with the Thai context for instance the built-in mechanism to deal with corruption problem, said the spokesman.

Sounds like the junta realise the draft is flawed and wont be accepted by voters. Its hard to get voters to agree to let a hiso minority control and rule their lives.

So for constructive we should read fawning?

Note to self:

"must try to be more obsequious"

his face shows the way he is open ?

Exactly and exactly what does the govt regard as a ' constructive ' comment ?

Does accepting everything that's said and done with false enthusiasm, where appropriate, and stifling personal thought all that's needed ?

If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all seems to be junta;s idea and that's the way they like it, aha aha .

Lol...

In the very nicest way possible, with no hint of criticism or condemnation, I'd like to suggest that the proposed ConstitutionV35 won't be very well liked generally. Which was the whole point.

Here's some constructive critism: The draft charter 'pulls water through a straw' 'Richards'

"comments made by some people were not constructive but provocative with the use of offensive language in a way which might incite hatred or conflict."

Level of trust shown by government towards Thai people to engage minds is...... weak? appalling? "Can't start a fire without fuel"

"NCPO spokesman insists the junta is open to constructive comments on draft charter"

Only constructive comments allowed, but absolutely no criticising comments. The PM has shouted.

"the NCPO merely wanted the comments to be done properly and with mutual respect."

In the same manner of respect the military had for the Thai People's 2007 Constitution?

One reaps what one sows. The military is good at en garde but cannot survive a touché. wai2.gif

yeah, we'll see....

When you think about it, there really should be no issue. So many past constitutions have been torn up and re-written, why not this one too.

Since the govt insists on the public doing exactly as it's told why don't they help with some ideas on what constructive criticisms are and aren't, a couple of simple booklets would suffice. I suggest

' A 1,001 constructive criticisms for every govt foul up ',

' All you ever wanted to know about constructive criticisms but were afraid to ask ( because of AA ).

Now over to the members, all ideas and constructive criticisms welcome, maybe !

I have some constructive criticism.

Dear NCPO, your official spokesman exudes arrogance and intolerance. He is a liability. Get rid of him. Sincerely, PDL
