backdrifts22
Does anyone know where to buy Chinese medicine in Phuket? With Phuket having a large Chinese community I'm guessing there must be a shop somewhere but I can't find much details on Google. faraday
Thalang Road, near to Kopitiam Resturant - about 2 doors down I think.
fester the benevolent
Tiger Kingdom had some bad publicity lately so they might be willing to part with some components of a tiger for a fee. That aside here are plenty of snakes and bats and industrial pollutants that could be infused in the local hooch to give an approximation of the Chinese elixirs of life. eisfeld
Is that like homeopathy or is there some scientifically proven effectiveness in traditional chinese medicine? It's an honest question since some traditional medicines from other parts of the world turned out to indeed be effective. And in other cases it turned out to be just... placebos to put it nicely. I think it's more complicated than that. Homeopathy was created to scam money from the stupid people. It should be killed. Chinese medicine have far longer history than our modern pharmacy. Obviously, if the 'holistic approach', does the trick for a individual person, then that's all good. There are lots of psychosomatic reactions, which have been documented. The way I see it, placebo does have effect for protecting our bodies to get real problems. Plasebo does not have effect to cure, unless our mind is set to fight. Placebo (our mind power/ will) has next to none effect to fight the real problems like cancer) Another thing is that our modern day pharmacy is based of the old wisdom of the shamans. Years of fail an error taught us, what plants to eat and what not. The same process is done in a petri dish in modern chemistry. The difference is the speed, how fast thousand errors can be skipped, and the one correct formula is found. Summa summarum. We would be naive to ditch the knowledge, what has been accumulating over the centuries. Instead we should learn from those experiences and use what we have learned to our benefit. faraday
Krabi Road, not Thalang Road. No, you are incorrect. It is on Thalang Road in Phuket Town. Edited February 12, 2016 by faraday
