Dear friends, just returned from my Thai-holiday today. My question is when can I go back ?

My entering was october 8; visum valid until nov.9th

When can I go back (90 days later ?)

Thanks for your help :o

Have you been in thailand before the 8 oct arrival?

You may go back to Thailand already today, if you wish.

Starting 1 October 2006, you are permitted to stay in Thailand for a total of 90 days based on visa-exempt entries (30-day stamp on arrival) within any 180-day period.

If your last entry into Thailand on 8 October was with a visa – you mention a “visum”, and a visa-exempt entry would not have given you permission to stay until 9 November – that 14-day period of stay is not counted as part of the afore-mentioned 90 days.

Just a word of warning.

It sounds like the OP might belive his visa (if indeed it was a visa) is still valid (quote: "visum valid until nov.9th"). Since the visa is already used, then depending on where he is from he might need to obtain a new visa.

If, however, his first visit was on a visa exemption, then as mentioned he should be able to come back tomorrow.

I thank for the quick responce.

With visum I mean the following. I got 30 day stamp in my passport when arriving at the Airport Bangkok. It mentions valid until 9 november.

I be a bit more specific; I want to go back 22 january 2007 for three weeks. Is that possible ?

Thanks for your help :o

What you got was a permission to enter without a visa. The stamp probably says "Admitted until 9 november" as opposed to a visa that would be valid for entry until a certain date. I know it sounds like I am nit-picking (and I probably am), but if people misunderstand your circumstances the answers you get could be wrong.

But to answer your question: Yes, you will have no problems coming back in January.

Boyke, it would be necessary to know what nationality you are.

We're assuming that in January you could enter on a 30-day stamp (visa-exempt), but that would depend on your nationality as not all nations can enter "visa-exempt" for 30 days. Some nationalities ALWAYS require a visa.

I don't know what nations are exempt or not, but someone on here would be able to give you more exact information if your nationality is not included in the visa-exempt category.

PS. There is an inconsistency with your dates. October 8 to November 9 is 33 days, which is an odd number of days for any tourist stamp.

"The stamp probably says 'Admitted until 9 november' as opposed to a visa that would be valid for entry until a certain date. I know it sounds like I am nit-picking"

Not nit-picking at all, and is the point which allows many of the panicked "tourists" to remain in Thailand. The "visa on arrival" and "toursit visa" programs are separate and distinct.

Basic answer is that you should not have any problem with another 3 week visit.

The date of entry and date required to leave Thailand are indeed suspect on original post - either that stamp was set wrong or the poster has typed the dates wrong. But it makes no difference in the answer to his question.
