When I am in Savannakhet I use the Avalon Residence. Located a couple of minutes walk from the bus station, about 15 minutes walk to the Consulate and about 20-25 minutes walk from the river front area. You can find it on Booking.com Recommended.

As I wrote in other topics. I recommend Savanvegas. First apply for a VIP card online, then send a booking email stating that you have applied for the VIP card and you should be OK. 1000 Baht/night, I used it 2 times and both times I got both breakfast and dinner buffet in that price. Last time the WiFi was down but I did still have connection to AIS in Thailand.

but when you stay at that place you are miles away from anywhere? You don't see anything of Savannakhet itself and it's like being in your own compound. What's the point of Staying in a place like that?

Somewhere like Avalon Residence is a much better experience.
