^ Good one, but be careful that you don't get a high floor (unless you like walking stairs) room as they still haven't installed an elevator the last time I was there.

Savan Vegas is 1000 Baht if you apply for the VIP card first. I used it 2 times now and each time I managed to get both free buffet dinner and breakfast. Last time the WiFi network was down so no internet but my phone did stay connected to AIS while I was there so I could use that instead.

I stayed at the Avalon, December 13 to 15th. Around 680 baht per night, clean rooms with fridge, hot shower, aircon and TV. As already mentioned just a couple of hundred metres from the bus station. We walked to the consulate, a pleasant 20 minute walk and plenty of offers of a tuk tuk ride along the way. The elevator is working but I never used it, it was stuck between floors when we first arrived.

A friend of mine recently stayed at the Avalon Residence

It's a couple of hundred meters from the bus station and a short 5 min tuk tuk ride to the consulate.

I stayed there, good staff, excellent value for money, rooms very clean and new building.

20 baht for tuk tuk to the consulate. 680 baht a night I'm in the lobby waiting for them to clean my new room. Building 2 don't have flat screen tv so I can't connect my laptop to the tv so I asked to change Rom. Very friendly staff good service.
