single entry visa based on child support

Featured Replies

Hello everyone one

Can anyone help me with the above I have read everything I can find but still have doubts about some aspects.

I have lived previously (on a retirement visa) in Isaan but returned home for medical treatment for a long period and my visa expired, I returned in January on a 30 day tourist visa which I extended by 60 days at my local immigration office(Kap Choeng Surin)

Now I want to get a 1 year visa based on supporting my daughter(I am married legally and living with her mum) but if I can avoid going out of the country to get the visa I would like to as my health prevents long journeys.

I can make the 40k a month income requirement ,my passport has 18 months to go on it and can show photos of the house etc so any help would really be appreciated

Thanks for any help

You can convert your visa exempt stamp but only in Bangkok, it requires two trips to Bangkok immigrations.

You should be applying for the single entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai rather than for being the parent of a Thai,

If you are here in the Isaan the best place to go for the visa is Savannakhet or Vientiane. If living in Surin or Buriram Savannakhet (Mukdahan) would be the closest location.

When you apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration likely will not do it based upon being the parent since you are married to your child's mother. You would also find it easier to do it based upon marriage.
