It looks like potato or nearby sweet potato, was bought from Ptechabun province,

its tastes a mild sweet with juicy flesh, what this called?

There is a plant called บัวหิมะ (bua hi ma) = snow lotus, that looks very similar. I can't 100% sure but it may be a possibility.

looks like a yam or similar to a sweet potato.

Casava is a good guess as well but they are typically longer and not round.

They are all very similar tubers.

Was just asked by a friend about this one yesterday, new to me also, looks like a tuber, yam sweet tater thing but it has a center core, unlike anything I know of.

Looks like a red skin sweet potato. The wife dried some out and buried them. She kept the water to them until green shoots appeared above the ground. Now we have an endless supply. Try it if you have a little bit of ground.

Yes, (bua hee ma) exactly this is what I heard from the vendor lady, but the word quickly escaped out from the mind,

it's NOT sweet potato, when I bought it the sweet potato was next to it and I knew it well,

for this (Snow lotus) can be consumed raw, just take the skin off and shop into sliced and eat,
