At least 60,000 new companies will be registered this year

BANGKOK, 17 February 2016 (NNT) - The government’s economic stimulus measures have created approximately 2,500 new companies from December last year to January.

Department of Business Development (DBD) Deputy Director-General Rattana Theanvisitsakul has revealed that there were more than 5,700 new companies registered in January. This represents a 78% increase from the previous month, but a 4% decrease year-on-year. The combined value of all new company registrations is 28.1 billion baht.

The DBD Deputy Director-General expects there will be around 60,000 – 65,000 new companies registered by the end of 2016, due to government mega projects and a higher investment budget for this year.

The most popular category for new companies is construction, followed by real estate, consulting, construction materials and machinery.

How many will still be in operation a year or two hence?

60,000 will be registered and 90,000 will be in the hands of administrators by the end of 2016, whats the news here

One of them will be my Somtham shop. The first 99 TVF members will receive free Somtham until the end of their lives.

So 5,700 people on so called "incorrect visas" chose to become "business men".

Or perhaps 11,400, 4 million capitalisation is still ok, I think things become more complicated over 5M.

NNT putting on their rose colored glasses...

TBH it is remarkable that the general has been so completely incompetent at running the economy. Two years on, ... he had and still has a completely free-hand to implement any economic program he wants... no voters, no opposition, just open road in front of him....

And yet the country's economy is in the dumpster.

That takes a special talent.

This represents a 78% increase from the previous month, but a 4% decrease year-on-year.

And the number of company registrations in September 2015 was down by 13% year-on-year! (2015-10-17)

So the lack of net increase in company registrations into 2016 continues. That is not good news.

2500 companies and 28 billion baht in Capital companies at 11,200,000 baht each. No way

Lots of luck unless you hire foreign labor!

2500 companies and 28 billion baht in Capital companies at 11,200,000 baht each. No way

Even if we were to believe those numbers, not all companies have paid up capital. Actually, none of the smaller ones i have heard of seem to have.

So that money's on paper only.

Thats at least 60,000 brown paper bags per week.

The brown paper bag industry will take off, maybe even become the hub of brown bag manufacturing.

A boom year for house sales !!
