PM Prayut says US President Obama understands Thai political situation

Yes as a American who left the USA because my fellow country men voted not once but twice for this moron I can assure the ultra left wing Marxist Communist "understands" the PM. In this case I hope the PM told the anti Christ to <deleted> off. Maybe Thailand can invade the US and liberate everyone so I can return. smile.png

You and those who like your drivel post are all probably on an FBI nutter list.

Unfortunately the inmates are now running the asylum. The US of today ain't the US of the 1950s. I'm sure Barry Goldwater would be on the FBI nutter list nowadays.

My family in the U.S. lives approximately 4,100 miles from London. What exactly makes you think my father should wake up in the morning and think about your country (that he defended while in military service)? Or where your country is for that matter? We get this from Canadians as well. Nothing against the Canadians, my mother's sister and her family live there and I have a number of great friends there. But what makes you think we need to know anything about you, your problems or where you live? The high school education I received was just fine, although it did not teach me to meddle in other people's affairs, and prepared me for university just fine as well. It seems egotistical, narcissistic and vain to believe that people must be stupid, or ignorant if you prefer, because they don't know much about YOU! You do seem to care a bit too much what Americans think of you, though.

I would argue, simply from the shear amount of positive engagement and cooperation around the world, that the American people care an inordinate amount about the rest of the world. It is a shame that some people from other parts of the world only seem to focus on negatives about Americans. Could there be some kind of subconscious jealousy, or are people from those other parts of the world simply stupid, or ignorant if you prefer? Perhaps it is their high school education? <deleted>?

Wow. Your entire post could have been written by a Thai huh.png

Really? Do expound. I'm afraid my limited understanding of the world we live in leaves me at a loss.

555, as If Obama even gives a rats backside. He is nothing more than a messenger boy for the upper echelons himself. To him TH is just as important as Cambodia, Laos or Malaysia, so somewhere towards the bottom of the list.
This whole situation and giving so much self importance to ones own insignificant country reminds me of Holland. The PM there also has lengthy press conferences about meeting Obama for 2 minutes and discussing the 'importance' of Holland in the world. Sorry, but the rest of the world don't care.

PM Prayut should listen to his own people; what Obama, the official America, the official Europe thinks is their thing. They have plenty of growing, unfinished business on their plate hence would better shut up.

Anyhow Obama is off to a"*ç%kissing travels to another former enemy - the "Stalinist" revolutionary Cuba!

Maybe I am wrong but I've noticed with interest, that all those former enemies of this great America have not changed a bit but it is rather the official US which keeps "adjusting" their mind to whatever suits them best, i.e. the Islamic Republic of Iran or the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Latter saw getting fought - as bad, bad commis - to a "nuke 'em all out" level until the US realised that the latter had lost the war back home before it really started; so what was all that "protect freedom rubbish". On another interesting note might be that today's biggest financing partner of the US is ....... PR China, prevailing commis to this day!

So, PM Prayut may acknowledge what all these clever men say but is best advised to tune into the Thai people, and Thai people only!

Blimey! The way you seem to measure politics I fear you would class Benito Mussolini as a Social Democrat...

Obama has done only good things for the U.S. (my country too), and could have done much more without an obstructionist Republican-controlled congress and majority conservative Supreme Court. The President is not a king.

I agree with this. Better an Obama than a Bush or a Trump. All the opposition to the things Obama has tried to do like the health care scheme and gun control just shows how selfish the conservative elites in the US are.

My point exactly, the US view of the world entirely exists in the minds of the US educated citizens. i.e. the world revolves around the US.

Unfortunately that's not the reality, however, you seem set in your ways so let's just leave it there.

I see..... Well, you've straightened me out. I thought my point was that most Americans don't care about you, not that we don't like you, charming as you are. But now you've straightened me out and made me understand that YOU believe that we think the world revolves around us. Thank you! The point is, YOU care too much about your perception about what Americans think, which is your vanity. However, you seem set in your ways so let's just leave it there.

The mere fact that that the US is hosting an ASEAN conference is laughable. What's next? China hosting a European Union summit?

Imperialist USA just wants to contain China with their vassals Japan, Taiwan, Philippines etc. -the countries that have already sold their souls by signing the TPP agreement.

If the PM really believes it then he should allow foreigners to own a house and land in Thailand Families are the cornerstone of any economy and if he really wants to make

serious progress economically then they must allow for integration of foreigners in Thailand as a full member of the culture not a fringe element.

This will help build a very strong robust economy that will surge not just grown at 1 % or not at all

Why would a foreigner want to invest in the future of Thailand when they are not guaranteed a future in LIFE here in Thailand

Its time Thailand joined the world community of nations Look at Hong Kong Look at Singapore and now in Indonesia making progress as well

Thailand will remain a 2nd tear nation until they truly embrace the world

Can't wait for the Donald and Sarah train to arrive so that the whole world will be blown to pieces, then we can all go down together. Nah, on second thoughts, give me the rather tame O'Bama any day, at least he does not want to destroy the world as we know it.And at least he was sound enough not to make gun carrying compulsory.

I'm afraid the silence from Obama is only because the problems and illegalities of having a non-elected gov't here is at the very bottom of a very very long list of priorities. Thailand means nothing to the US in scale of what's happening in the world. Thais have to learn that Thailand is only the center of the Universe to Thais.

1000% my vote for this post ! clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

You sound like just the kind of American that most are likely happy left the US. Childish, degenerate highschool comments.

Yes I agree, it's pretty clear this guy has absolutely no idea what an ultra left wing marxist communist is, and that's probably due to his poor US education.

I've seen this a lot during my life, the standard of high school education in the USA is abysmal, most of them don't know the difference between Australia and Austria and it's not until they go to college they learn anything about the rest of the world.

Even then it's limited to a US-centric view of other countries, i.e. "with us" or "agin us".

it's a worry.

Your post Dan says it all, eloquent, bigoted, narrow minded, egotistical, rude, showing poor education and all the other things that bred the ugly American. At a guess I would venture that your grandpappy was in the south and enjoyed having slaves. However to give you comfort it is not longer USA in top spot, it is now the era of the ugly Chinese who really are the Middle Kingdom and even more deserving of the title "Ugly". By the way if you got to know some Brits you would find they are often good people, partly because of a good education, although they did one time fall for the oldest trick in the book , the weapons of mass destruction trick. Hard to be perfect. As for your father's defence of wherever, the war we all fought mid 20th century was a team effort put together by Churchill of Britain. Not fair to single one contribution by an Allied member but it would have to be the Russian heroics on the Eastern Front plus their magnificent and stunning victory over the Japanese/ Chinese Kwangtung Army at the battle of Manchuria, August 1945 the last military action of the war and what led directly to Hirohito's surrender. Yes your father played his part also no doubt. I am sure Obama understands.

Judging from the last 7 years I doubt Obumer knows all that much about foreign affairs and probably cares less about what is going on in Thailand. And it's possible that without Soros pulling the strings behind the scenes the good ship USA would already be on the bottom lifeboats still attached to the ship......instead of being broken down on the high seas with no tug boat in sight! whistling.gif

The PM need not bother himself with the screeching from the organ grinders monkey!

Mind you a bit hypocritical to have a go at Thailand's junta when we have Saudi Arabia, an absolute Monarchy with not even a whiff of democracy and lopping off heads to boot, regarded as a perfectly acceptable style of government. Poor old Saddam even used to be best buddies and devoid of criticism till he stepped out of line, Ukraine, US installed bloody Nazis.

So the reality is that the US is not bothered by the type of government just how subservient it is.

The focus is on Thailand I believe. Anti-US rhetoric negates any meaning bits to this post.

And why not, He made the trains run on time did he not. The trouble with all you wimpy liberal types is that you just don't understand the good ol 'merican way. Yeehaw, bomb them back into the stone age......

Besides, Benito ended up "hanging out in a gas station" which is about as American as you can get!

:P:blink::)

Joking apart, there really is something a bit scary about some of our more right leaning friends from the USA.

obama couldn't find thailand on a map in less than ten miutes

So you know nothing about President Obama's personal history or time as President?

Or you just wanted to throw in a cheap, unrelated jab at the POTUS?

Which is it, ignorant or trolling?

Back to you.

As an American and a long time resident of Thailand- I am well aware of the Thai -American relationship. These relationships are built on what is in the best interest of each country. I am sure Mr Obama understands well the Thai situation and all the nuances that go with it. I am also sure Mr. Prayut also understands why the US must speak openly about Democracy. What is interesting to me is that both the US and Thailand suffer from much the same problem. It is called money politics. Elections in both the US and Thailand are bought by the wealthy, for the wealthy on behalf of capitalistic vested interests. If the General could solve that problem, the coup may have been worth it. It is the same in America, and that is what the next election will hopefully bring out in the open which is a real need for change. The problem in Thailand and America is that there are very few people who can be elected that really want the change. It is the avergae person in both countries that demand it.

The TPP is a perfect example of the US creating a trade pact that will support American business..The Thais are right in being suspicious of it and moving slowly- The pact favors the business community in America and will raise prices on imported goods needed in Thailand such as Pharmaceuticals. In addition, America's interest in the Asean region stems from the need to counter Chinese influence. China is a clear and present danger. They need huge resources to keep their population docile so the Communist party can remain in power and their plan is get these resources from Asean.

Regarding the debate stated on American education versus British- I must agree with the Brit that American secondary education in many places is poor. Your level of education in America is dependent upon where you grow up and as schools suffer from decreased budgets- it is the students who suffer. It is hard to believe that the US can spend $630 Billion on the military but cannot provide enough funds for a first class secondary education system. However, when one goes onto college- the education system is top notch- if you can afford it. Here again, it is the inequity in America that rears its head. While there is some inequity in Britain- I find that most Brits have a good education and are able to become college educated without becoming indentured servants to the State. It should also be noted that both the United Kingdom and the USA need each other now more than ever. We both have a common background- but Americans need to understand that the center of the World is not always in Washington. D.C. Americans can learn much from other countries and certainly from the British whose history has influenced World events greatly.

It matters to no one whether I endorse the situation in Thailand or criticize it. The current situation is a reality. The Thai people and History will decide if the right choice was made and that time is coming sooner than later.
