Delicatessens in Thailand

Featured Replies

I just saw a thread in the general forum about Thai delis, and I never knew there was such a thing. I've seen meat counters at Tops, but I don't think I'd call that a deli. In my mind, a deli is a full-service shop that specializes in providing all sorts of sandwich makings - not just meat but cheese and an assortment of breads and other accouterments like dill spears, kraut and condiments. After all, what good is a kilo of shaved corned beef and emmental cheese if you can't find a loaf of nice dark rye bread with caraway seeds? They may also sell prepared foods like cole slaw or potato salad.

So where are these delis I've been missing out on?

The term Deli is code for brothel here. So you have to be real careful and know what your asking for.......

No wonder people were looking for extra-large pickles in that other thread.

Tops at Central Chidlom has got all that you want. So do other places like the Gourmet Food Store in Emquartier at Phrom Phong. It's better stocked than Central.

Try Bei Otto Deli on Suk. Soi 20

A bit far but if they've got the goods then I'll gladly spend the travel time. Thanks.
