When my tourist visa runs out, after extension. With country would be best to go on a visa run to make ether e new torus visa or an ED visa

Traveling from Chiang rai.. Myanmar or Laos?

Laos.

Myanmar is not an option to apply for a new visa unfortunately.

Going to Vientiane is inconvenient but obviously the closest Thai embassy/consulate overland.

You can get a tourist visa from the Thai embassy in Yangon, Myanmar, but I would say that Laos is the better option, especially if travelling by land.

I guess even traveling to Vientiane is easier than to Yangon and also shorter.
