PATTAYA: -- On Monday afternoon, two men, one armed with a gun, tied up and gagged a house owner and proceeded to steal items from the house and removed them in the victim’s pick-up which the pair also stole.

The incident occurred at a house in the Pong area in East Pattaya at the Kong Yai Village. Police met with the house owner, Khun La-iet aged 51, who was understandably distraught and was being comforted by her son.

She described how the two men, one described as thin and the other described as overweight, arrived on a motorbike as she washed clothes at the front of the house. The thin man was carrying a gun and threatened the woman to be very quiet or he would shoot her.

Pretty bold to do something like that in broad day light. Even took the rice cooker.

Very desperate.....

Richer pickings to be had closer to town!

Only a guess but I would say debt collecting

Laurel and Hardy, no doubt.

Things are only getting worse in Thailand given the current economic climate.....be careful everyone, lock those doors etc!

That's Khun Laurel and Khun Hardy!

routine daily event in pattaya.

routine daily event in pattaya.

Not sure whether in English a term "armed theft" is appropriate here.

Isn't that an "armed robbery"? Much more severe than theft and/or burglary, which might be "daily routine".

But please don't tell me that armed robbery to a private house is daily routine???
