ljd1308
Hi all, I have been looking at getting solar installed on my house here and it seems the prices are somewhat excessive. As i know a few installers in Australia who often come to Thailand for holidays, is there anything stopping me buying the components and getting them to do the install when they are here? Do they need to be certified in Thailand? Does it need grid approval? I plan to install a 5.2kw system with no batteries and remain connected to the grid. I am not fussed about a Feed in tariff so I plan to set the inverter to zero export.
Crossy
Which prices do you think are excessive, equipment or installation? There is at least one story on the forum of a DIY solar installation running into issues with PEA although the exact nature of the problem was never really made clear. Where do you intend sourcing the equipment? MEA / PEA have fairly limited lists of approved inverters. Do you intend spinning the meter backwards during the day or actually absorbing all the solar output when it is generated?
ljd1308
The guys have suggested some equipment they use in Australia and I found it on Alibaba. Winaico panels and a solax inverter.
