Visa Non O Multiple entry based on Marriage in a expired passport

Featured Replies

Hello guys I have the next question I got on October 2015 a Visa Non O multiple entry in Savannakhet Laos, the problem is my passport expire on May 2016 I got a new one already on my embassy but I want to know if there is aproblem to use my valid visa in my expired passport or I need to get a new visa in my new pasport.

By the way when i went to Imnigration office in Korat the Inmigration officer told me they may not accept mi valid visa on my expired passport so I wanna make sure about it because officers always said something different everytime.

Thank you for your answers.

There is no problem. Your visa remains valid in the expired passport. Just carry both passports until the visa expires. When you enter the country give the IO both passports.

Show both passports on entering the country. There will not be a problem if the visa is valid.

Thank you guys

Make sure you have the old passport handy on the way out too, they've often asked to see my old passport and visa on departure. Also make sure they stamp the current passport - coming into Hat Yai one time a rather ancient immigration officer put the stamp in my old passport. After pointing out the error, and him consulting with another officer, the mistake was rectified.
