I hold some ISAs in the UK with an investment company. I have just informed them of my new address in Thailand and now they are asking for a Thai TIN. Has anyone else been through this process?

But seriously I believe it is quite easy to get a Thai TIN number although it may, as like a lot of things depend upon which province you live in.

Be careful informing them you moved aboard with ISA accounts in the UK, specially with fix term ISA accounts.

No further additions to your ISA's whilst non-resident in the UK for tax purposes. Pre-existing ISA's continue to benefit from tax relief.

Use that number.

Just tell them you don't have one, I believe this is an acceptable answer at least for a year or two but it depends on who you're talking to.

They will know that unless you have a job that many countries don't issue tax numbers to just anyone who comes along and asks for one.
