Address of Immigration Office?

Featured Replies

I am about to do my first 90 day report (retirement visa) and would like to do it by post but don't know where to send it to - I live in Phuket and can't seem to find an address of an immigration office, other than Bangkok.

I know that I could, potentially, do this on-line but would have to wait until 2 weeks before due date, which would then be too late for doing notification by mail and I fear that I might have trouble with the on-line thing and would then have to report in person, which is no fun apparently!!

Your assistance would be appreciated

Thank you BritTim, I'm most grateful!

To my knowledge there is NO difference in time and reporting between post and online-reporting.. In both cases it is 15 days down to 7 days before..

I do online 15 days before, and if I do not have any answer or confirmation from Immigration after 4-5 days, THAN I report via postoffice.... Works every time... either or...

Giegolo, I don't know if you are correct but I looked at the website and saw that the postal reporting required MORE than two weeks notice - I assume because time must be allowed to deliver the mail and for the staff to process the documents. There is then a little leeway in case of problems. I imagine that the on-line stuff is expected to be a little bit faster because it doesn't have to include an allowance for the vagaries of the postal system.

I may be wrong but I am a female in someone else's country so feel the need (always) to play safe.

I would very much prefer to do the on-line thing but am concerned because I use a Macbook - is your experience with reporting in Phuket and using a Mac? If so I will be encouraged to try it myself next time.

Following @glegolo's post.

Exactly two calendar weeks before due date (same weekday), you can try online reporting.

If you can not get to the "pending" state (data not accepted, "contact office") then there is no doubt: send letter.

If your data is accepted wait for confirmation as described.

Worst case as usual: up to 7 days grace period after due date for report in person (exactly: 6 days after, so if it's a Tuesday be there on following Monday at latest).

For mail in reports the only requirement is that it arrives at immigration 7 days before the report date. You could send it by EMS so that it arrives the next day after you send it.

You could do online report 2 weeks before the report date and if you did not get approval then send it the day before the 7 day cutoff.

I have no experience from Phuket more than the horror stories I read on Thai-VISA about Phuket immigration. I have furthermore no experience of MAC either.

But suggest that try online and if no reply within a couple of days go to the post-office, use the EMS-service which for a cheap amount of money allows you to follow your posted envelope. Delivery the very next day.

Click on the following link, and state your reference number you got at the postoffice, and you can even see the name of the officer that signs for the envelope at Immigration. Great service.
