PHUKET: -- The Ministry of Tourism and Sports (MOTS) has good news for water-sport enthusiasts as Phuket plans to host a Formula 1 powerboat race in November to promote the island as an international tourist and water-sport destination.

“This is a joint venture between Thailand and Singapore. The expected date of the event is November 4-6,” MOTS Phuket Office Director Santi Pawai told the Phuket Gazette.

“We have yet to finalize a location but Karon, Cherng Talay and Laguna are under consideration. A team from Singapore will be here to inspect potential locations tomorrow.”

November can be really windy.

Will this be another another F1 and Tour de France non-event ?

Does anyone really believe this event will really happen ...

I don't think November is a good month for this, but don't see any reasons why it won't happen.

Yeah right, like the F1 was going to be in BKK with a stage of the Tour de France..
