“Early drinkers” and Gambling found at Central Pattaya store

PATTAYA: Pattaya Police arrested the shop owner and 10 other people on Friday Morning at a shop in a central Pattaya street that was serving alcohol too-early in the morning and it was also thought that gambling was taking place.

Police arrived at the BF Tattoo Shop in Soi Sukhumvit 46/3 just before 10am and found a group of people sitting and drinking whisky they had purchased from the store. Inside the store 3 men and 3 women were found playing cards for money.

This place is a real gambling nest. They had the exorbitant sum of 200 Baht on the table. blink.png

Bet they weren't playing Bridge. coffee1.gif

After arrival at the police station how long did the whisky bottles retain their contents ?

This is deemed newsworthy? Bizarre coffee1.gif

Early Drinkers - is that anything like say...Military Intelligence?

Another easy target, keep this up and the country wont be known as land of smiles ,

what? they didn't bring 50 men? oh wait, no Farangs or bridge being played.

"Hello Chief? Yeah we got 200 baht and half a bottle of blend 285."

"OK, pick up some soda water at the 7/11 on the way back to the station. What does the girl look like?"

I was in Pattaya once on a new years eve, and walked by half full bars at 11 am, with early drinking farang already hitting it hard.

Doing that I'd be a mess by 3 pm

Waking up at 1130 pm with a bad hangover must be fun

Up to them..

Probably Songtaew and Motorcycle taxi drivers killing time before work.

200Baht, seized, no doubt its the H.Q. for money laundering. "Sinful Pattaya"

What time are you allowed to drink if purchased from a shop/bar??

Maybe another notorious bridge game.

Early drinkers? What if they claim to be slow drinkers who started already the night before?

what's wrong with drinking whisky before 10.00am ? legal sell time starts at 11.00am-2.00pm I believe ??

and playing cards for 20 baht, 100 baht .... I mean really .... !!

isn't there bigger fish to fry in Pattaya than these guys ........ This is just ridiculous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blink.png

Another major impact on crime in Pattaya. I wonder if Interpol assisted in this endevour.

They are reaching final paranoia.

Hunting some early morning alcoholics at the stone table.

Laughable to the max.

Here is a funny thing.

Firstly Soi 46/3 is Soi batman and "drinkers" are there 24 hours all day long.

Secondly 2 cops live in this Soi .

One runs money lending operation and another bets and lotto sales.

I am guessing raided shop owed one of them some money.

Worth mentioning ,neither one of them is high ranking, might be the reason for low police attendance.

Shouldn't apply your inefficiencies to all. Some can play through, some will realize waking-up at 11:30pm means the bars are still open.

I know its against the law to gamble but lets face it what do the police get out of It these people will be fined they will find another venue and they will continue to do the same thing nothing changes.

I bet it'd take a lot of legal knowhow and knowledge to know if it was bridge being played. I'd expect 30 or more court cases to decide if it was bridge and another 30 to decide if it was legal or not.

Yet another round of "damned if they do any policing and damned if they don't" responses.

It's a report of one minor incident among many that happen everyday but go unreported.

don't Thais have any private property rights?

the police can just come busting into your house or business?

if they were out front in plain view, why? and didn't they see the cops coming?

could it be they had no expectation of the police doing anything because they never have before?

are these the same cops who live next door?

are there witnesses to the gambling?

when the cops showed up, why didn't someone just put the money away?

it is only 200 baht, not like 5000 baht in small bills.

and hide the cards when the cops showed up?

a small pack of cards in a big shop house.

who said they purchased the whiskey in the store?

are there witnesses?

is there some law about drinking? did the police see them drinking?

what time did the drinking take place? are there witnesses?

maybe a private party on private property.

who took the photos and why?

were these people tortured into confessing?

will the international press pick up on this story?

Drinking whiskey and playing cards.

Do they think they are in the Wild West.

Lock them up and throw away the key.

Must be a slow news day or did the army make a mandatory order to report.

This is just not worth reporting

Final Paranoya? That explains why the shelf at foodland is empty.

I disagree that this isnt newsworthy, its useful to know the levels that your local police will stoop to

Leav them alone, and work on enforcing the real problems!

The peep's in the photo look a bit "flushed", was this some sort of " club"? The boys in brown got right to the "heart" of the matter, called a "spade" a "spade" and " dealt" with the people who were "all in" the shop.

????

I bet they didn't have to pay 5000 baht bail....... That price is only for the foreigners right....

You got a point there giggle.gif
