Marriage visa and option to work

Featured Replies

Aloha Gents,

Looking for the words from all the Sages on TV...

OK...will not have the school to take care of all my visa BS soon.

Thus.. wanted to check..I still plan on working in LOS after 60 for a few more years, thus would the marriage visa work here?

Have the yellow book for house, required baht, and working on the BS photo ops now, the the marriage is registered.

Does the marriage visa allow you to work even after 60..

Cheers mates.... yeah I know.. but you can only do nothing for so long....

  • Your visa or extension of stay based on marriage does allow you to apply for a work permit.

You can work all the time someone is prepared to employ you and the Department of Labour issue a work permit.

Hi. Sorry, I don't have one.

In order for you to work you need an employer and as long as your employer is happy with your age they apply to the Department of Labour (DOL) for a work permit. If you are suitably qualified for the job, and it's not a prohibited occupation, they will issue a work permit. As far as I am aware there is no age limit for the DOL to issue a work permit.

If you want a definitive answer you would need to talk to your local DOL.
