i took it upon myself to ask for her, im sure she will be ok when she gets down there.

There are Thai style 1 bed bungalows for rent near me in Chaweng Noi. I think they are unfurnished though 5k a month.

There are plenty of "Thai-style" rooms and bungalows available in the range from 3,500 baht/month – may even find rooms down to around 2,000 b/m. Let your Thai friend ask local Thais, depending of area she can find a nice bungalow with wifi within you specified range up to 8k b/m.

Probably all over the island, but I know about Chaweng, Lamai, Bang Rak, Maenam – as said, ask some locals in area of interest, they are a much better source for Thais, than local farangs...smile.png

That' a misbelieve. Of course there are some locals who know it better. But it's amazing to see, when some tourists ask the next Thai about the weather and the sea, thinking he is the expert, but comes actually from a 'land' far away called Isaan and has never seen the sea before, has never been at the most beautiful waterfall on Samui, not at any waterfall, don't know the most authentic Thai restaurant, can't read the map and show the way to Wat Kunaram on it.

Because he is here for work and knows the way from his hut behind the market to the beach, where he works, and eats only next to his hut his Isaan Food, and takes the day of, if there is one, at the hut or nearby, is completely not interested in the attractions of Samui, because it's not his home and he would not be here, but for the money, and would not say 'sorry I am not from here, I don't know that', because that's not his cultural style.

There are ~60.000 Thais registered on Samui, who are not all born here. Thais from the mainland must be over 100.000 roughly estimated, any number of simple Burmese, Farangs who live here for years maybe 5.000 (?). And local Thais from Samui stay more or less at the area where they live. Tong Krutians are almost never at Choen Mon and Plai Leam Thais almost never at Wat Kunaram, some have never been up Hin Lad waterfall and so on.
