Ladies do not seem to have any problem finding - I have never bought for myself.

Many village markets will have a vendor selling it; its quite common.

Knowing the Thai name would be a start, I looked it up and it appears to be

สารส้ม S̄ārs̄̂m

Alum has a bad name now in the deodorant industry.

I did mange to track it down in Mae Suai. ANd yes I had to use the Thai name to find it.

20 baht a kilo in the solid form.
