simon43
can i transfer that money to a uk bank account direct or would i have to move it round first? Thinks may have changed since I last worked in Myanmar. At that time, there was no outward international funds transfer service available from the banks, (inward from Thai banks was just being implemented). To send funds out, I had to send to my Thai bank account via a Hundi agent. It was very cheap and reliable - I never had any problems using my agent in Yangon.
