Defence Council holds first round of meeting

The Defence Council has opened the first round of meeting following the appointment of the new Defence Minister, Gen. Boonrawd Somthas. The meeting will seek ways to solve security issues in the country.

Defence Minister General Boonrawd Somthas (บุญรอด สมทัศน์) presided over the Defence Council meeting. The Permanent Secretary for Defence, Army Commanders, and senior army officers are attending this meeting.

Gen. Boonrawd will declare the ministerial policy before the meeting and discuss solutions for the problems in the deep South after the Cabinet has approved the restoration of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center and the 43rd Police and Civilian Forces.

The resolution of this meeting will be announced by the Spokesman of the Defence Ministry, Lt. Gen. Jakkrit Intharathat, once it is adjourned.
