Casino owner shows off wealth on Facebook, ‘proves’ innocence in Thai man’s murder

BANGKOK:-- The friend and business partner of a Thai man who was found murdered in Cambodia has posted photos on Facebook showing his extraordinary wealth.

Mr Aroon Wongrak, part owner of the Pailin Flamingo Casino in Cambodia says he posted the photos in a bid to end speculation and rumours that he was involved in the murder of Somnuek Charunchirathian, 51, due a longstanding debt estimated to be around 30 million Baht.

The photos, which show Mr Aroon alongside a huge stack of cash, expensive imported cars and inside his luxury mansion, proves he was not involved the murder as he already has more than enough of his own money and would not need to kill someone over debts, he claimed.

Mr Aroon also asked people to stop calling him a suspect as the police have not taken any legal action against him over the killing of Mr Somnuek.

Police are so far yet to arrest anyone in connection with the murder and investigations remain ongoing.

Vain or what??

I don't know the case. I do know that the concept of someone being so rich he wouldn't want more money is silly. People have killed for a lot less especially where partners are involved.

Pictures on Facebook?

Well that's me convinced.

Too bad he didn't show off before the murder............whistling.gif

Well I'm sure convinced of this guy's innocence.......................

Pictures on Facebook?

Well that's me convinced.

Proof positive indeed and in a perverse way he may have a point, ' I'm very rich, I can't be guilty of anything '.

How about killing or having someone killed for loss of "face". I suspect that this is a far greater cause of murder in Thailand than money.

Hmmm...has he paid taxes on all this wealth? Might not have been smart to show all this off! LOL

He appears to be rich enough to be innocent in Thailand.

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs,

but not every mans greed,

Mahatma Gandhi,

These types of people always collect on debts no matter the need for the coin or not.

Isn't there a law about hoarding so much untraceable cash?

This guys actions doesn't prove anything towards his guilt or innocence for a murder but it does leave him open to other things. One thing for sure! He has just shown he has enough in cash to pay any bribe to the police should they desire it.

Hmmm...has he paid taxes on all this wealth? Might not have been smart to show all this off! LOL

And maybe he just makes himself a kidnap target.

Me rich me have big car me have big house me have lots of gold me not go prison for sure, sure sure!!!.

It proves nothing. The rich always want more and more, no matter how much money they have.

But the picture is a good lesson to gamblers to show the house always wins.

Sad.................

The way the legal system works here, with that much cash of course he could "prove" his innocence. With that much he would be able to provide DNA samples, police character witnesses, CCTV footage of him being somewhere miles from the crime scene and could probably throw in a couple of foreign goats for good measure

Amazing Thais.

He'll definitely be proven innocent when some of that stash finds its way into the right hands.

He is very rich,so must be innocent, works here in S.E.Asia

and in America.

1. The cash could be borrowed from the casino cage, just for the photo.

2. The car could be leased.

3. The house could be mortgaged to the hilt.

Many other reasons to kill somebody besides money. Nothing proven here.

Such negativity. If it's on Facebook, then it is true! gigglem.gif

....or you might interpret it this way.........'extreme ego'.....

....where might that lead one.......???

Garish and poor taste to use Facebook as a forum. His pictures go beyond garishness and poor taste.

"the police have not legal him and are so far to arrest anyone"

enjoying my Daily News in Bar Girl English... coffee1.gif

If he's dumb enough to think some Facebook photos are enough to convince us of his innocence, then perhaps he is dumb enough to have committed the crime.

As to the police not having charged him..... well, people with that much money generally don't get charged with anything over here, because... Thailand. sad.png

I would have thought that he has just made a good case for the police to reopen the case and take big brown envelopes with them, to clear his name.wink.png

A perfect example showing how the rich and connected get away with murder........and he likely has a personal team of minders to quell any attempts to indict him!

Me rich me have big car me have big house me have lots of gold me not go prison for sure, sure sure!!!.

But, ... sob, sniffle ... me only have little penis. WAAAH !!!!!!!!

Quelle vanquer.

You shouldn't kill someone for a debt because then there is no way that you can recover your money! Maybe break a leg or so but to kill someone is just stupid.
