PATTAYA:-- A Singaporean man, 28, who committed suicide in Pattaya left a note warning that his dead body was inside his hotel room.

An employee of the hotel located on Pattaya 3rd Road told officers that the man was meant to have checked out on Wednesday at 11.15am. When staff called to the man at 1pm he said he was about to leave the hotel.

However, after the man failed to check out, staff went to his room to investigate where they saw a note on the door of the bathroom which read “warning dead body inside. Sorry about the shock,” which is when staff contacted police.

Officers found the body in the bathroom alongside a bloodied knife. The man had suffered a fatal stab wound to the neck.

Investigating officer Niwat Piengken concluded the cause of death was suicide and that there was no sign that a struggle had taken place or anyone had forced entry into the room.

The man’s body has been sent to hospital for autopsy.

Police are also working with officials from the Singaporean embassy.

No sign of a struggle, that explains everything so no need to examine prints and DNA on the knife and note.

I agree. This mantra of 'no sign of a struggle' seems to be used all the time.

I just wish the police would simply say they are investigating and will issue a statement later. After all, if you pumped half a dozen bullets into someone or stabbed them in the neck, then left a note on the door, there would be 'no sign of a struggle".
