Commerce ministry expedites Thai logistics development in AEC

BANGKOK, 9 March 2016 (NNT) - The Department of Business Development under the Ministry of Commerce has arranged a seminar to develop Thai logistics to international standards and increase business opportunities in the AEC.

The seminar on Tuesday led more than 100 logistic operators and businesspeople to the Suvarnabhumi Airport Cargo Clearance Customs Bureau with the objective to educate them about customs formality, import/export regulations, and cargo release processing.

The seminar also encouraged the logistics operators and businesspeople to strengthen themselves by confirming to ISO standards and enhancing their competitiveness.

Director Business Promotion and Development Division Poonpong Naiyanapakorn suggested that today’s management of logistics services needed to keep up with the global trends which leaned towards environmental preservation.

If Thai businesses adjusted to the trends before their competitors, they would be at an advantage, said the director. He therefore urged them to learn more about green logistics and use green technology with their services.
